About Us — Grace Bible Church | Granbury TX

Welcome

From Pastor Terry Enns

Thank you for your interest in Grace Bible Church. The intent of this website is to introduce you more fully to Grace and our ministries and our vision for ministry.

As you have surfed our direction, perhaps you asked yourself the question, “I wonder what Grace Bible Church is like? What do they believe and what do they do?” And maybe you also wondered, “What is a Bible church?” These are the kinds of questions that are important to us.

We are a gathering of people that includes children and adults, singles and married, young married and older married, families with young children and families with grown children, those who are new to this church and those who have been here for more than 20 years, and Granbury natives and Granbury transplants. But more than all these things, we are a gathering of people committed to shepherd God’s people by God’s grace for God’s glory.

Every aspect of ministry at Grace Bible Church — worship, instruction, fellowship and outreach — has as its goal a desire to reach the unbelieving for Christ and mature the believing in Christ by the gracious empowerment of the Holy Spirit and the gracious administering of the Holy Spirit, for the express purpose of revealing the character of God and upholding the majesty of God.

In other words, we believe in GRACE. We believe that God’s grace is the reason for our physical existence and it is also the reason for our spiritual existence and hope. All men everywhere are on a quest for happiness and joy. From the Scriptures we believe that the only source of happiness is found in the gift of God. His gift is Jesus Christ who died to free us from the bondage and penalty of sin. That gift is what grace is all about. And that grace is what empowers the ministries of Grace.

We also believe in the BIBLE. God’s message of Grace is contained explicitly in the book called the Bible. It is the supreme tool to teach, admonish, correct, and train people to live righteously. Jesus himself prayed this: “Sanctify them in the truth; Your Word is truth” (Jn. 17:17). We believe the Bible is true, and because it is true, it is the supreme authority for all ministry everywhere.

And we believe in the CHURCH. As defined by the Bible, a church is not a building but a group of people who are brought together to serve and honor God by mutually meeting the needs of one another. In the context of this church that means that we take great pains to do all we can to mature, nurture, stimulate, encourage and protect the faith in Christ of others. We love Christ; we love Christ’s people; and we love to help people become Christ’s people.

As you move through our website, our prayerful desire is that you would find your great satisfaction in God and in serving Him. And what even greater joy it would be for us if it would be at Grace, so that together we might shepherd God’s people by His grace and for His glory,

Terry Enns
Pastor

INFORMATION

OUR HISTORY

Grace Bible Church began as a Bible study in the summer of 1979 and formally incorporated as a church in the fall of 1979. The founding families shared a vision for having God’s Word accurately proclaimed as sufficient for every area of life.

The church initially met at Central Texas Title and the First National Bank downtown. For a number of years Northwest Bible Church of Fort Worth provided assistance in a “mother-daughter” relationship by offering the leadership of their elder board for GBC.

The church obtained a piece of property and moved into its first building on Easter Sunday, 1981 and an addition to the building was completed three years later. A multi-purpose facility was dedicated in October, 1997 and work continues to be done on it on a pay-as-you-go basis. The church is debt free and plans to continue to operate in that manner.

Grace Bible Church is an independent church, and functions under the leadership of a pastor, elders and deacons.
